German Chamomile essential oil’s perfume note is a heart note. It is a calming and peaceful, sunny energy, warming to the spirit. It blends well with many oils, and is used in natural perfumery for fruit notes, herbaceous perfumes, high class florals, and modern perfumes.

Observations and Anecdotal Information
Steam distillation produces azulene in the oil, giving it a distinctive blue color. The natural blue color is an indication of anti-inflammatory properties in essential oils. This may be the most anti-inflammatory essential oil in existence, superb for healing wounds and inflammation in tissues.
One of the best uses for this sweet scented oil is in the treatment of soft tissue injuries. It can remove bruising, relieve pain and swelling, and increase range of motion almost immediately when it is applied to a fresh injury. The blue azulene constitutent carries an anti-inflammatory property, which can be used in any location where inflammation is occurring.
Our German Chamomile essential oil can be placed directly on open wounds, and will stimulate healing of tissue and skin, and prevent infection.
It is one of the best oils for treating sports injuries, including sprains, strains, and contusions. For this purpose, it should be applied to the affected area, then wrapped with saran wrap followed by an ACE bandage or other supportive wrap. Open the wrap every day and apply more oil until the wound is no longer swelling and the pain is gone.
German Chamomile essential oil is a liver balancer and stimulant. It relieves nausea, and soothes ulcers. It is known to balance hormones, relieving PMS and menstrual discomfort. It is also a gall bladder stimulant, and can help soothe indigestion. It is also helpful for all kinds of skin ailments, as a regenerative treatment or added to cremes and oil blends.
