Notes: Lemon Myrtle is a fairly new arrival on the aromatherapy scene. It is a very strongly lemon-scented oil that contains over 95% citral, which is more than any other oil currently known (including lemon). It is known to be even more potent in its germicidal properties than Tea Tree oil.

Lemon Myrtle essential oil is very effective for relieving sinus and hay fever symptoms, when used through inhalation. It is an ideal choice for relieving asthma, bronchitis, coughs, and mucus in the respiratory system.
It makes a fine oil for spinal application, as it works on the muscles to relax and release holding patterns. It is a liver stimulant.
It is also very useful for certain skin conditions such as acne and psoriasis. It must be well diluted for this type of application.
Lemon Myrtle essential oil has an affinity for the prostate gland, and can relieve congestion in the gland. Similarly, it can work to balance thyroid, ovaries, and hormonal issues in general.
