Observations and Anecdotal Information
Bergamot is a tonic to the bladder and urinary system; it will gradually rebuild these organs and restore vibrant health, when used consistently and combined with dietary changes. It can be used internally in a semi-homeopathic dilution for this purpose. Bergamot can be combined with Terebenthine Pine and applied topically to the bladder area to reverse incontinence or loss of urinary control.
It is also very helpful in blends to balance mood swings due to hormonal imbalance, in which case it can be applied to the abdomen or diffused and inhaled. Bergamot relieves nervousness and anxiety, and is such a likable aroma that many children and sensitive adults find it desirable when other oils are not tolerated.
Used in the cosmetic industry with its ability to fade or disappear scars and other marks on the skin, and bringing a more balanced and even tone to the skin; especially helpful for acne scarring. You will want to avoid exposure to the sun when applied to the skin.
Bergamot is also linked to our sense of self. Emotionally, it can help enhance our frequency of self-worth and self-love. It helps us to release old patterns of self-judgement and self-worth that keep us from expressing all of who we are, and keep us over concerned with what others are thinking about us. Inhaling this deeply penetrating aroma can assist in creating new patterns of acceptance, and lighten our feelings of heaviness, sadness, fear, and criticism.
