Observations and Anecdotal Information
Myrrh is known for helping to regenerate a depleted thyroid gland. It can be made into a homeopathic dilution and taken internally for this purpose. It increases thyroid production and helps balance thyroxine in the blood. It can also be applied externally to the thyroid using a dilution of Myrrh & Frankincense (scroll to bottom for recipe).
It is also a great support for recovering from a chronic or long term illness. Myrrh helps to increase the white blood cell count.
For many centuries, eastern Asian cultures have used myrrh in formulas for healing injuries, especially strains, contusions, sprains, and broken bones. It can be blended with other oils and applied to the skin as a poultice; or added to grain alcohol in combination with other oils for a healing liniment.
