Observations and Anecdotal Information
Eucalyptus macarthurii is a great anti-septic oil, good for diffusing to relieve or prevent colds, flu, and infectious diseases. It has both anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.
It has been used topically as a treatment for burns, sores, ulcers, scrapes, boils, and wounds.
Applied as an oil or ointment, it can relieve the pain of rheumatism, aches, pains, stiffness, and neuralgia.
For outdoor enthusiasts, eucalyptus macarthurii rubbed onto the skin seems to work well as an insect repellant, especially for mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas.
Applied to the chest, it relieves congestion and cough. For relief of congestion, asthma, and respiratory problems, boil eucalyptus oil in water, remove from heat and inhale the vapors–or use a diffuser or inhaler blank.
For an antiseptic bath, place eucalyptus oil in the water as you run a hot bath. Deep penetration of the oil is assisted by the hot water, and brings pain relief, muscle relaxation, and mood enhancement.
It is also a great detoxifier and immune booster when used in a sauna or stem bath.
