In natural perfumery, Douglas fir essential oil is used in making holiday perfumes, forest notes, sacred perfumes and incenses. Combines well with cardamom, eucalyptuses, lime, clary sage, tangerine, and vetiver.

Douglas Fir essential oil carries the wisdom and energies of the old growth forests. These great centurians have been used for centuries by Native American herbalists.
Energetically, it has an affinity for the feet and legs, and is helpful for healing nerves and opening circulation in the feet and legs. This great tree has been used to make a poultice to treat wounds, cuts, burns, hemorrhoids, and skin ailments. It was applied to dislocated or broken bones. And it was used to stop bleeding of bowels, stomach, and excessive menstrual bleeding. Taken internally as a “tea” or homeopathic remedy, this oil is a remedy for urinary infections.
Applied locally, it has been effective with paralysis and relieving the pain of arthritis. It is a superior additive to massage oil blends for tired and aching muscles, backache, and sports injuries. It can help unwind pattern from the muscle fibers and myofascia.
