My First Energetic Experience with a Crystal

All my life I’ve had a love for the beauty in the rocks and stones. I believe many of us have collected rocks as children, being drawn to them similar to a young child selecting the perfect jelly bean out of a jelly belly bag.  With their beautiful texture’s and varying degrees of colors, it was as natural to collect stones as it was to jump rope or skip down the street.  It was just part of life.

Over the years as I matured, a curiosity for the stones transferred into the shiny, sparkly crystals that I began to adore.  Clear sparkly quartz, the beautiful shades of purple in amethyst, the perfect pinks in a rose quartz, and the sparkly rays of the golden sun in citrine - all of which were my first loves in the realm of crystals.

While I understood the value of their beauty, I was curious as to how they would actually help me on a personal level.  Through books, classes and  conversations   with   employee’s  who  worked  at  crystals  shops,  I

would listen attentively and learn as much as I could soak in about how the crystals and stones may actually help me as well as to heal the earth. 

Yet while I listened, learned, and placed the stones ceremoniously within the earth, or around the house with specific intentions in mind, I really didn’t have a communicating relationship with them as the authors and teachers did.  Even though I would see the results of my intentions, I was still hungry to be able to communicate with them on a more personal level.  So, I would ask and pray to God to be able to have that connection as they did - I wanted to experience more with the stones. 

One day I decided to take a crystal communication class with a locally known Medicine Woman. Her spirit was so kind, gentle and beautiful, I knew if anyone would be able to teach me how to connect with the stones, it would be her.  While attending her class, she had us each select a crystal from a bowl.  There were many kinds of crystals in the bowl, and I choose a raw Amethyst point (which I still have to this day! see pix above).  We were instructed to hold the crystal in our hand, and she took us all into a meditative state.  We were guided to introduce ourselves to our stone, and then we each sent the energy of love and appreciation into our stone.

As I held the space of love with the Amethyst crystal in my hand, I noticed that the crystal began to move - and then it started to jump.  It was jumping so much, I thought it would jump right out of my hand.  I opened my hand and looked down at the crystal, only to find it sitting perfectly still in my now warm hand.  And even though it looked like it was quietly sitting in my hand, I continued to feel the energy of it jumping.  I can tell you that the biggest smile was now wrapped around my face!

This was the first time I ever received a conscious form of communication from a crystal, and it certainly wasn't going to be the last. It was the most amazing and exciting experience! In that moment of joy, I went from curious to a true believer that there is Spirit in the crystals and rocks, to what else can I communicate with?  And so the journey began!

Now looking back, I know in my heart that the crystal was just as excited as I was to be able to have such a beautiful, heartfelt connection.  Now I am able to feel their energy, hear their song, receive their messages, and I joyously invite them to come home with me - even temporarily - while they are waiting to be welcomed into their new homes.

It is my intention for those of you who do not currently feel a connection to the crystals, that my personal shared experience will inspire you to gain trust and faith in your own personal abilities to connect with the crystals and stones.  Remember, I went from feeling no connection, to asking and then receiving a beautiful “hello.”

Ask, believe, trust, and receive.
